Welcome to my Dato page.  We purchased this number from E-Bay 12Months ago for the huge sum of $372.00.
At this stage I new nothing of fixing or restoring cars,  maybe a battery change.  But because we had a new home and extra space I felt a hobby would be good and set about searching for my Sons first car.  My son 'ET' is 13yrs and is exited about learning to drive the dato.  He has requested the car be Pimped alittle.  As this is my first attempt I fear it will be more like car before pimping.  Well the pimping needs to have!!  green paint, sporty stering wheel and lots of bling.  Added to that the Idea of a Chamelion air-brushed on the sides is high on the request list.
 
So here we go.  atleast I have a few years to work with.

As far as im aware there are no aftermarket wiring harnesses avaliable for the 1000's.
The easiest option that I know of is to use a generic wiring harness.

There are heaps of models and manufacturers to choose from, just work out how many circuits you will be running to choose the correct one for you.

The harness kits should come with instructions to make the process less daunting.
and some are labled every so often along the wire with things like "Indicator" to make wiring as simple as they can make it.
 
I have not wired up one of these myself, I was going to on my last car before I sold it.
I was going to run all the wires to the basic areas first (engine bay, lights, fuel tank ect).
Then wire up the things I know and things I can check as I go. (Lights and indicators)
This should have got me comfortable with how it all goes together.
Then I was going to get a mate to help out with the engine and dash end of things if I was unable to figure it out fom there.
 
I was going to transfer all the plugs from my old harness so everything would still plug in as normal.
 
 
There are companys that remanufacture wiring harnesses.

Im sure they could make one up for you if you spent enough, but I don't think it would be worth the extra money over the generic harnesses that are avaliable.

It is a good thing to read no matter which manufacturer you end up using.
