G'day all,
I just ordered a genuine temperature sender unit for my VB10 (A12 engine) from my local Nissan dealer! After searching eBay and other online places, as well as scouring all the usual non-gen parts stores like Repco, Supercheap, etc, etc and not having any luck, I called Duncan Nissan (Victoria Park WA, for all you interstate folk). To say I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is still available, albeit ex-Japan, and that the price was actualy cheaper than a non-gen "Fuel Miser" part Repco could order in for me is the understatement of the year.
The part number is 25080-89900 and cost is $42.80 incl. GST. The Fuel Miser non-gen part from Repco was $49.90. BAM!!
It makes me wonder what other genuine parts are still available for our prides and joys. One things for sure, I'll be checking genuine more now!
