Old thread but yes they are great carbs for the a12 if jetted correctly. I have used them on a 1200 cc Toyota engine with great success and fantastic induction noise :p. They bolt up the same as a side draught webber so manifolds are still around. Think u can still buy them new from lynx. If u can't find jets u can just braze them up and drill them to the correct size (on a dyne with an air/fuel ratio probe is best but a knowledgable backyarder can get an acceptable result.
