Introducing myself, beetwenty, Ashley

My name is Ashley and I am relativley new to the Datsun scene, (Late 2009)
I am the Owner of datsun1000.com

This forum started out as a personal blog, it's sole purpose was to have a place to share my progress with friends and family.

As time went on I quickly found that information and parts for datsun 1000's were harder to obtain than I had initaly thought, much much harder. So I decided to obtain as much litrature on these wonderful little cars as I could.

Now that I have entered some of this new information into my web page along with many photos of new old stock, I have decided to host a forum specificly for datsun 1000's.

I hope that my efforts can help others to keep more 1000's on the road.

When im not playing with my datsun

My other passion / hobby is mountain bike riding.


and occasionaly I get out on the unicycle.

Nope, there are ones with brakes. offroad unicycling is a sport, it is calle "Muni" which means mountain unicycling.
Typically they are 24 or 26 inch wheels. Mine is just a cheapie and is only a 20 inch wheel.

I don't use it anywhere near enough to fork out $700 on a proper one.

My mate is a nutter on his, I just stick to the trails.
They are suprisingly easy to ride and when you have to bail you almost always land on your feet.

great work Ash.. .. welcome to 1000 world..lol and you can keep you one wheeling..lol
I nearly got into downhill stuff, i sold my hybrid and was looking into a bike, but bought my Harley and that was the end of that, althouh I scored an old bike on Friday, but it needs some better forks and a shock..

What bike did you get?
I can send you some 1980's stickers to pimp it out, I bought literaly 100's of old school stickers at the markets.
There was a lady selling them so I bought everything she had. I love stickers- Im like a skater when it comes to stickers.

I will have to get them off my buddy in brisbane next time I see him,
I lent them to him so he could take what he wanted.
I'll let you know when I get them back.

Christ! So you got that red coupe? Same colour as my B10. Ditch those K-mart hubcaps, fix up the badging and hey pronto you'e got a mint stocker.

It was a nice coupe, you got a good price considering he wanted 5 grand when it was first advertised. What are your plans for it?

i know hey the hubcaps are absolute pus.. the 180b badge on the side is a pretty pov effort but hey.. ive had cars with straight up red bike reflectors bolted to the bonnet like some sort of pov attempt as a badge or something..
yeah i seen the car up for ages and initially offered him $3500 when it was up for $4000 but he said no..
so when i saw it for $2500 i snapped it up.. the paint was in very very bad condition though.. like you couldnt rub a rag across it without mad flakes coming off.. so ive spent the last four days sanding the back and the roof of the car back to bare metal . then im gonna give her a paintjob myself ..ive got a 310 sunny coupe which is defected which ill be stooging the 13" rims from.. kinda centreline copys...could swap the a12 over but i think ill leave that for a while cos the little a10 seems to be running a treat and will definately give me better fuel consumtion for the time being.. love flicking the little light and heater switches and shit
makes me feel like im in a plane cockpit haha
