Uploading images

Hi Ash, Andrew,
 
I'm having an issue uploading images from my tablet. It's an ipad and every time I upload a picture, even though it has its unique file name, the uploaded still labels it 'untitled'. This isn't a problem except that I can only upload one image and if I upload another it simply changes the first 'untitled'.
 
Can you help me with this?

After a bit of Googling, it seems iPads don't retain the filenames of photos...

So unfortunately the only solution is:

  1. Throw the iPad in the bin
  2. Use a real computer

I'll just link the pictures in from datsun1200.com that should do the trick.

Haha, nah there IS something I can do:
 
I can make the site rename the file to something like "Untitled (1).jpg" when the file "Untitled.jpg" already exists.
 
I can't be bothered doing it tonight, but I'll get it done and let you know.
 
I'm just being lazy. I didn't feel like compensating for Apple's poor coding.

Nah, no dramas Andrew, I thought if it were a simple fix then it might be worth the mention. I can manage uploading to 1200.com and then linking across to here.

Done!
 
You can now upload images with the same filename as an existing image - and the filename will just be appended with an incrementing number.
 
Eg: "Untitled.jpg" will become "Untitled (1).jpg", the next one will become "Untitled (2).jpg", and so on...
 
Let me know if it all fails horibly because I've overlooked something
