Hi guys im gonna pull the front end outta the 2dr i got and need to know the easiest way. last time i done it on the ute it took forever and it always seemed to be under load so it was hard to undo nut and what not (think i stripped a couple) so would like to know how to do it properly lol

yea i always inox them before some are just a prick, the main one i'd like to know is the castor rod

Is the castor rod the radius rod? Same thing?

Sometimes if they're loose or if the bushings at the end have perished the nut will cross a thread or two, so basically it's a matter of getting it off and hoping that a new nut will be able to thread back on.

Other than that it''s all pretty straight forward, if your pulling the whole lot out start by taking the stub axles out so that the lower control arm drops right down, then take the LCA bolt out. It's almost impossible to do it without removing the stub axle assembly as the transverse spring will make it real difficult to put the LCA back in place.

Yeah okay with lining them up you normally leave the single adjusting bolt (on the other end) loose so you have a bit of play and this tends to helpwith getting it back into place. You can also jack up the underside of that LCA to put it at a height easier to fir the bolts back in.

I guess you could leave it on when removing it but it might make things a little awkward and the LCA may not drop down low enough to take the load off the spring, meaning that when you go to remove the securing bolt for the LCA (the one that runs through the end of the LCA and fixes it to the crossmember) it will have to be hit/tapped out as the spring is still pressing down on the LCA. This can get ugly pretty quick as one end frees up you may struggle to get the entire bolt out.
