My 1000 ute

Mate, good to see your project. The R31 rotors sounds like a whole lot of breaks on a little ute. You'll be doin endo's! I guess you need the 15's to fit the brakes under. Hard to believe you can fit them under the car.
Ha ha yeah it'll be a squeeze but they will fit. Got 165/45r15 tyres to fit and they'll have to be stretched alot. ha ha
Heres some more updated photos at the moment, Just waiting for my mags to arrive from overseas. I'm respraying a 2nd hand bonnet cause the old one is rusty as and I'll fit that. I'm working towards finishing it in the next couple of weeks, ready for powercruise at Queensland Raceway at the start of September.

Hey guys, I just took some photos of my new m/cyl set up and it's working well. The only problem I had was the pedal wasnt returning enough so it wasnt loading the cyl with fluid. I adjusted it and bled it and works really well. All up cost me $110 for discs + calipers, $40 for new pads, $115 for dual M/cyl and $15 for brake fluid.

I see you went with the electric fuel pump too. They are pretty hard to beat for value and reliability. Your master cylinder is the sam configuration as mine, how did you go with the conecting rod to the pedal?
No problems with the connecting rod, like I said I had to make sure the rod came back enough to load the cyl. But Over all it fitted really easy.

Just to let everyone know I got my ute on the road today Passed RWC with flying colours. It was running a bit rich, ha sounded like a 12a Bridge Port ha ha. I got a mate of mine to tune the carby's and now its awesome. Drives, stops and steers very well. Ha ha a few rattles but even new cars have them

Got a set of 14 x 6 0 offset chrome jelly bean mags with tyres from my Morris Minor on them. My new mags should be arriving on the warf tomorrow so not long. I'll take some photos and show everyone tomorrow. I'm looking forward to my first road trip early friday morning. Its making its debut at Powercruise as a support ute for my mates mental as SR Powered Nissan Gazelle can't wait for all the looks I'm going to be getting.
Hey guys, I've been a bit slack and havent updated you on my ute. It's running really well but my back isnt. I might have to sell it soon cause I've got a really bad back from a car crash a year ago. I had to sell my Nissan Gazelle a while ago cause of the same reason. PM me if you know anyone that might be interested, not sure on price yet. I'm pissed I have to sell it
Some people might not like the style I've gone for but I love the JDM Sunny trucks from japan so I've done it like that.
Anyway heres some photos

Mate I absolutely love those steelies! I was going to buy a set but hadn't gotten the funds together. There was a guy selling them here in Adelaide but he disappeared a while ago. Then they turned up on ebay from another seller.

Would you sell that set separately? If so what sort of cash are you after?
that thing looks sweet! thats sucks hope you dont end up sellin it

sad to hear it, how did you go with the brakes?
That is a real shame, Last time we talked you had plans for your ute.
It didn't sound like you would ever sell it, so I can see how hard a decision that must be to make.

I hope you decide to keep it and just drive it on shorter trips.
But if you end up selling it I wish you all the best of luck wih your sale Mike.

Thanks guys, Hopefully I can work something out about my back but it's not good. Yeah the brakes went well. No problems and really happy. I'm going to start cleaning the ute up, Give it a quick recoat of jam and fit my door seals and finish off all my interior. Once I do that I'll see if I want to put it up on the market or keep it. Cheers
what is the size of the steel rims? look very super nice but I know
that most of the sunraysia like steel rims are super heavy.

They are 15 x 8's 0 offset, They are pretty heavy I think around 10kgs each but you save on tyre weight too cause they are Federal 165/45r15's
Hey guys, thought I'd show everyone my ute with the chrome jelly beans on. Looks really nice.
