Lowering, How to lower the front?

Hey just wondering whats the best way to lower my front on my 1k ute? I've already got the rubbers between the spring and lower control arm cut but I want to go lower. I read on 1200.com about the hammering the spring to flatten it out, Does this work? Has anyone tryed this? Cheers
lol holy shit that's low brother, i've got just a thin layer of rubber on my leaf rests and it's low as f***. i've only got 2in of travel i would look at resetting the leafs but i dunno how your gonna go finding a shock that will actually travel, maybe look into stiffening up the leaf or something

Cool, I think my leaf rests are cut about half, maybe need to cut them a bit more, I might go talk to an old bloke I know in Stanthorpe that's an old blacksmith so he can lower my springs. Hes made some springs for me for work a while ago.
have you looked at my photo's? if you want i can measure the ride height for you to compare??

im looking into getting some shocks re-valved to suit and also getting my front and rear leafs stiffened up. im not sure what the process is of stiffening leafs is but i'd like the front around 4kg and the rear around 3kg pretty well double standard

Yeah I've seen the photos, looks good, yeah if you can measure your guard height that would help so good too. Can you also tell me what size tyres you run too? I can put it into my wheel/tyre calculator and see what the height of your wheels and tyres compared to my 15's. It should tell me it I'll get the height i want doing it the same as yours. Yeah I'm not sure whats involved in upping the spring rate, prob thicker springs to up the rate. I can ask this bloke what involved in upping the spring rate and how much to make.
rito i'll measure the guard height and get my tyre specs for you, yea it'd be good to know what needs to be done i pretty well think they add a leaf or replace with thicker ones like you say

Cheers mate, that would help so so much.
Front is 530mm and rear 515mm and tyres are 175/60 r13

I measure from the ground to the highest point of the wheels arch

Thanks for measuring that for me, Yeah yours is a little lower then mine but it should be easily changed, I talked to the old blacksmith today and he said to bring the spring in and he'll look at them and give me a quote on resetting them and maybe stiffening them up too. I'll let you know how I go and what kind of price he asks. Cheers
