ute parts...

hi all,
new to the site...ive got a 1970 1000 ute that ive had sitting around for a few years now.
Its time to start fixing the old girl up...Im just seeing if anyone has any parts for sale in Adelaide....??
Im after a drivers side datsun badge...the front headlight surrounds (both) these are different on the 70 model yeh?

Hi, good to see new members rolling in. You should upload some pictures of the ol girl so we can see what your working with. As for your head light surounds, are they the ones that hook back onto the grille, or are they round ?

Have you checked on e-bay for new ones? I'm pretty sure that I've seen them there recently, if it is the round ones that you are chasing.

hey mate, you can buy shiny new ones off ebay but it's a little pricey.. if you want a cheaper option i am in adelaide and may have two spare that you can have for just a little bit of coin. I will have to double check because the car and parts aren't at my house but they are off a '68 sedan and are the round ones (should fit?).. from memory they weren't dented just a little dul, but autosol is a miracle product. i will let you know if you're interested.

Yeh interested in them for sure..I dont think the ones on ebay are the correct ones...cheers.

you'll find it hard to get new ones, a set just went on yahoo dont know how much for tho

hey mate, i just fumbled through the car and found an extra set of headlight surrounds but they are the ones that attach back to the grille.. i have no idea if these are compatible on the utes, but i can get photos to you if you're unsure. somebody on here should know though..

Thanks for that mate..yeh im pretty sure there not the ones... i could be wrong ...does anyone know if the 70 model, or ute has different headlight surrounds?

Im pretty sure you just match up your  headlight surrounds to the grille.
Once you have a complete set. they should fit any 1000 model.
 
Some grilles take round headlight surrounds and some take headlight surrounds that attach back to the grille.
 
I have a ute grille on my sedan at the moment. some mounting holes don't match up but it fits.
