1968 Datsun 1000 wagon ( VB10 )

Worked to the shitter a12

standard carby

4 speed

Retrimmed seats

Shitty blue paint colour

everything works

in the spare bank i have:

spare worked a15 (cam, etc etc)

spare 4 speed

spare diff

3 x doors

3 x guards

chrome strips galore

spare indicators

spare tail lights

spare bumpers

2 x bonnets

And miscellaneous other bits (the back of the van is completely filled up with shit)

plans are to get it resprayed asap, most of the work has been done body wise, just a few areas need going over and filling.

colourwise it is getting repainted in an off white colour.

anyway pics:

The body is looking very straight in the 1st and 3rd pics, looking down the length of your car it looks flawless.
Your wagon should look great in new paint.

I think owning a mountain of spares is part of owning a 1000. we all seem to end up with all sorts of odds and ends.

I love to see pics of other peoples projects, It is the only way I get to see what other 1000 owners have done to their car.
I never see 1000's on the road, I think I have seen 3 in person over the last 5 years.

Keep us updated as your car progresses. Im sure we are all keen to see what happens next.

good work, I haven't seen that one about..
is it still licenced???
yep still licenced dundee will be on the road driving a fair bit more once it's painted, til then its sitting dormant on the front lawn getting a once over with some filler and primer.

just out of interest, you wouldnt happen to have a spare decent condition front apron panel (the one behind the bumper) would you? mine is a little beyond repair so i think a cleaner base might be in order.

did a bit of body work today, might put some pics up later.

also does anyone know where to find complete rubber kits for a vb10? im having no luck

at this moment, other plans include lowering it a little, putting on some nice watanabes or hayashi streets, and then drive it as much as i can.
i have been a corolla guy in the past, owning 86's, ke70's and ke20's so im a little new to the datsun side of things.
Where do you plan to get the Hayashi Streets? I've wanted a set of those for a while.

I know you can still buy them new from the manufacturer in Japan http://www.hayashiracing.com/, but I haven't seen any second hand ones in Australia.

I'd love a set of Hayashi Streets, Hayashi / HRE 505's, Hayashi Commands, or SSR Mk II's.

1000's look great on Watanabe's too
Heya Todd,
I think i have a front apron off the car already, can't remember how good it is..
might not be as bad as yours..
was just going to import them andrew check the thread 'buying parts from japan', i use jesse streeter for my stuff.

that would be great dundee, ill give you a PM later on today and we can go from there.

cheers
sorry for this noob question boys but what stud pattern are on the 1000s??are they a 114.4 x 4??
those hayashi streets look pretty nice never seen them before

the stud pattern is 4x114.3 im pretty sure

Todd.   "also does anyone know where to find complete rubber kits for a vb10? im having no luck "

Unfortunatley 1000's are hard to find parts for.
I was looking at the Mad dat store the other day and saw that they were thinking of doing bushes for 1000's.
Im not sure how much this will cover. But I hope that it comes soon anyway.

Other than that it is the usual story for finding parts.
Asking other 1000 owners for help with parts, ebay, Yahoo Auctions and other places like that.
Alot of parts are still around. If you wait long enough, and check regularly it pops up eventualy.

ah sorry guys, my bushes have already been replaced, i meant to say window rubbers, not suspension rubbers

my bad haha
double post
I think Rare spares do window rubbers.
also American auto parts, spectrum rubber and scotts old auto rubber.

Im not sure who is best on price.

thanks for the links beetwenty, but yeah, unfortunately all those sites don't have listings for vb10's, only other Xb10 variants. having zero luck with it.
