I like your train of thought Dave! The part that grabs me is that the side of the block still has "A12" on it!

The verdict is in. After cleaning out the pcv valve and pipe and replacing the rocker cover gasket (as a precatuion), the Bush Mechanics a.k.a. Neil & Dundee confirmed that the cause is what I was hoping it wasn't... Time for a re-ring! Now to...

I don't have any engine bay shots at all. I'll have a sticky beak in the morning then if I have no luck, I'll let the "bush mechanics" (Neil's words!) at it at the bbq.

I'm just about over having my cabin fill with smoke from oil hitting the exhaust manifold, creating a smokescreen AND periodically cleaning the little aftermarket filter on top of the rocker cover! Why is my A12 breathing so much oil? I'm constantly...

Jesus Leith! 300+ rwhp in a 1K ute??? Are tubs and wheelie bars on the project list as well? I vote a race between your beast when it's finished and Danno37's yellow 13B ex-dragster... You'll enjoy driving in your 1st ute though mate. The stance...

Cheers Wurzel! I have to admit though, she's a bit of a "Pamela Anderson"... From a distance, she looks fit for her age but up close, you start to notice the filler and crevices.

Thanks Neil, that's handy to know and he's not far from my work as well. The other alternative is to blank them out with sheet metal, a-la the Purple People Eater (nee MSDRIFT), but I do prefer the 1 piece window look. I wonder if I can keep the latch...

Mike replacing the dash top is definitely on the agenda, along with the whole dash. I'm wanting to unstitch it and replace it with a coupe dash (cheers Kdogg!) and instrument panel. I was thinking of centrecaps too, you'll have to bring a set to Levey's...

After first pestering D for his Watas over 6 months ago, to receiving them nearly 2 months ago, I finally have them shoed and fitted! I think I like the gold, they go well against the grey... ...Dave, no wonder you searched high and low for the...

I never realised there were 1.6, or even 1.8L versions of the SR, let alone with variable valve timing! How common are they... especially the N1 version?!?

Thanks for the meticulous packaging of the steering wheel D, it arrived safe and sound yesterday in as immaculate condition as you described. The idea of using a frisbee to protect the horn button was genious as well! Thanks again mate, you can be sure...
