Early dash surround keeps the dash fitting to the original lines quite well. That i agree with. I'm on the fence about late dash, feels more like a decision based on saftey regulations (padded top) rather than design. I do like the heater and wiper...

LED brightness is worth wondering about... My brothers high beam was ridiculously bright when he first installed his dash. The blue LED was considerably brighter than the green LED's, so his high beam required a bigger drop in voltage than his indicators...

I think im only 1% of ddgonzal's helpfulness. I dont think the spring would need to be 1000 specific. Atleast you know what you need to do to sort your issue.

I agree with you about the 1000 dash being ordinary. Coupe has a good dash. Id go so far as to say id like a coupe dash in my sedan. Ill throw this in for some inspiration on custom building... Years ago my brother made a custom dash for his Hilux,...

Contact datsport about 1/4 rubbers. Richard Morris, a member on here has kindly sent off a 1000 sedan to datsport to be used for making new rubbers. The more genuine enquiries they recieve about parts, the higher up the to do list rubbers become.

Wow, your car is looking amazing. Dont be shy on updating us all with pics as it goes together again. I always enjoy watching peoples 1000's transform into better versions of their former selves.

I have no idea why Nissan chose to use this material in there, so dont know if it can go or not. My uneducated Guess is... I personally wouldnt see much harm in ditching it. Maybe they did it to avoid a seam where water could hold and rust could form? ...

Photobucket has made alot of useful topics on forums not so useful. I guess ill have to imagine one with a brake swap and a supercharger. Does look to be all there. I even see some nissan boxes amongst the parts (could be just oil filters tho)

I have had the exact same issue and changed the voltage reg from another dash to fix the problem. It is an easy swap if you have a spare dash to rob for the part. Turn heater and wiper switches to middle position so they are pointing straight out....
