Wow, what a journey to get it running. Good thing 1000's are worth the effort. You have made me envious of the GX carbs on your A-Series, Dundee. And congrats on the award.

Today I learned. Thanks for the info Dundee. Just had a look through a parts catalogue, it seems it is part of the door card on the coupe. Ive never noticed this detail on coupes before. I feel very silly to have never noticed this.

I made myself an aluminium trim piece for the lower section of my door. I still need to make another one for the drivers side. This is my attempt to make the 1000 equivalent of the pb110 sunny excellent door trim. I'm very happy with how it came...

Chopped up an old stereo amplifier on the radial arm saw at work. (using a blade we have that is specifically for aluminium as it has a different rake on the tooth profile to that of a timber blade). This was just to get some finned stock as I had an...

The spacer is needed to accomodate the wider Z oil pump gears. Best and easiest to sacrifice a second A series pump body and mill it to the desired thickness. The holes are already in the right place. The shaft diameter is also different between the A and...

Sadly no. The lamp body has rusted away on mine. The lens polished up quite nicely and is good to use again.
