Sounds like an interesting combination especially with the bike carbs, Just been reading an article on the Datsun 1200 Wiki page about engine swaps to replace the 1200 engine and the 1500 sounds like the right choice, they describe it as a torquey engine...

atm Ill take anything like that here! even a four door has some rear roof area that has me itching to make into a unique 2 door just move pillars, 2door doors and the rest is a piec of cake since they are so simple.

From the research i've done only the later ones are collapsible, there are three types, the early 1200 ones have one bolt at the front and two at the rear the same as the 1000 ones, the next models had the same column but the bolts were changed around...
