"Maybe doesnt have a PCV valve as prob previous owner used a combo of A10 and A12? Could have blocked the engine breather with a welsh plug as had done on my A12 on time. Any engine pics on the inlet ex side to see?"

"I didn't consider a catch can. Chris (Clyons8) suggested checking/replacing the pcv valve, which I never thought of either. Seeing as that's the easiest (and cheapest) possibile cause/fix, I'll have a go a that first."
