I've tried to find the brake light switch in my 69' datsun 2door sedan. I'd appreciate any help on finding its location. I can't see any wires going near the pedal so I'm kind of lost. EDIT: found it. I Didn't think it could be in the brakeline...

Sounds like they are taking the piss. I did the conversion on some lc/lj torana konis. Used a leading cone shape pin made on the lathe to guide the shock pin nicely into the bush. Nice and controlled using a hydraulic press.

Thanks Ash! I spoke to them again on the phone and they said they will try a few more suppliers for the bushings and go from there. If it goes on much longer ill probably go pick them up and take you up on the offer. Thanks

That sucks, When I did mine my local pedders swaped the pins from my 1000 shocks into my pedders shocks. The guy did mention it was a nightmare to do, but he got it done. So I'm guessing your shop isnt interested in doing difficult work. If you get...

Hey guys, I dropped my front shocks at Pedders almost 2 months ago to get the pin pressed in to the new shocks but they are either being lazy or haven't found any bushes to put the pin in as they said the bush will be destroyed when they take the pin...

Yea it pulls well through all gears but yes rpm is super high, 4000rpm is around 75km/h so highway is pretty much impossible. I am looking at a 3.9 to1 diff with a 5 speed box when i have the money available. I need to sort out the brakes, handbrake,...

no problems, wow A15 fitted must take off easily from almost any gear! I had 3.9, A15 and 5speed overdrive but still rpm too high, specially at a 100. My stock A10 59mm 4 speed 4.11 was the only combo that sounded good on the freeway up to 120kmh.

Thanks d It came with the a15 already fitted but yes id definately like to go with an a12 with 5 speed and lower ratio diff, we get 3.9 to 1 diffs over here out of the Nissan 1400 which was sold here until 2008 and are pretty easy to source. My main...

I figured the early 1200 all drums would be hard to get but you might still get parts as suggested by BeeTwenty. The early datsun 1200 coupes had the hubs you need for a front disc brake conversion and you can use the whole lot as long as you fab some...

Awesome thanks for the info. The older 1200s are just as rare over here. The Nissan 1400 is common and parts are super cheap but not the same unfortunately. I have an A15 motor already, i will be looking into a 5 speed and newer model diff replacement...

I believe the early datsun 1200 models with drum brakes at all wheels have the same brakes as a datsun 1000. For the rear I believe there are two slave cylinder diameters, one for drums all round and another for use with front disc/rear drum brakes, the...
