I just ordered a datsun 1200 parts book, so it should arrive in a week or so. If 1200's and 1000 steering boxes share any part numbers I will let you know. I'll just look up the steering box in the 1000 and 1200 parts books to see what bits are the same....

Well if that covers the custom fabrication of the replacement parts then I guess it's okay but sounds like fairly broad quote conditions. Why not grab another one that still works? $550 is a fair bit hey.
