NOS Datsun A10 engine – anyone seen one of these before?
Hi all,
Came across this recently and thought it was quite an interesting find.
It's a Datsun A10 engine, apparently brand new and still in its original wooden crate and Japanese factory wrapping. From what I can see it looks pretty genuine, and the seller reckons it's been sitting in storage since the early 70s.
It's just the block and head assembly, no carb or ancillaries, but apparently still has the original assembly lube inside.
I know a quite a bit about old Japanese cars (having owned multplie 70s Toyotas) but not so much about the early Datsun engines.
Just wondered if anyone's come across one still crated like this before? Are they particularly rare, and is there much of a market for them these days?
Quite tempted by it, but struggling to work out what something like this is actually worth!
Cheers!
