I wouldnt class a CA swap as easy. But it has been done into 1000's before. It certianly ticks the boxes for competitive track days, street car and avaliable parts.

I like the idea of going A series, but also wouldnt mind doing something a bit more modern. The end goal im looking for is a quick street car that would be fun on the occasional track day. I want to swap in something thats going to be reliable for...

If easy is your plan then A series is the go. Just depends on your plans for the car. What are you trying to achieve with the engine swap? Best to have a clear goal in mind and work towards achiving your goal.

Assuming you can make it fit and can find an engineer to certify it, mods would include. Engine and gearbox custom mounting. Tunnel modification. Custom drive shaft. Diff upgrade. Seatbelts. Larger radiator. Brake upgrade. Exhaust.

From what i have read, an L20B is considered too tall for a 1000. I have never measured any of it myself so am unsure of where the interference is, or how much we are talking about. Also i believe 2L to be bigger capacity than what you are allowed in...

As a side project I have also made an alternator tensioner bracket. I am using an early head on a late engine, but want to run the alternator in the late position. So a custom bracket was needed to join the two. It is just 6mm steel cut to shape and...

The top half of my bushing is made up of 2mm steel, plus a 3mm backing plate for the top. I also have some high tensile washers to weld to the sides for a thicker interfacing between the bolt and mount. Gussets for the sides. I will update with...

The 120y bushings are listed on the nolathane web page as 35mm outer diameter and 12mm inner diameter. However, i decided to use the superoo bushings to keep the mounts dark in colour. The bushings i used have a 1/2 inch inner diammeter, so i ended up...

I used 120y leaf spring bushes and cut the smaller diameter length to 20mm each. Cutting was a simple procedure. *Bolt through the bushing and then inserted into a drill. *run drill and cut with a stanley knife using the pointed end of the blade to...

As promised in another topic, here is the run down on my mounts so far. 6mm plate drilled & tapped to suit a 10mm thread. Plate countersunk and thread tapered. Welded up and then cut out to make a bolt with a large rectangular head. Then welded to...

Part way through a 120y leaf spring bushing mount. Still need to do some final shaping and remove mill scale before hopefully having my friend weld it up on the weekend. Wanting a bushing mount with a square look to not look overley out of place in...

Looks and finish are important, I would do the same for a keeper even happily remove the original style and run tubing with 2 bushings like on some race engines where you just undo on bolt and pivot the arms away from the engine for easy removal. I used...

I agree with D about flat plate being the way to mount late A engines onto early crossmembers. I am not so wise and so...I am going completely and utterly overboard and modifying everything engine mounting to avoid the adapter look.

A little bit of plate on original engine mounts is all thats needed to get the later engines in you can easily arc weld them or get someone to do it once you have it how you like.
