hi all, im still looking for a 2 door sedan that i can use as a donor car. any leads would be greatly appeciated.

morning. im after a whole car. i have a good rolling shell with no interior, the idea was to paint the rolling shell and strip the donor car onto the newly painted shell. do the small resto bits as they are moved across. thanks

Lee what color is your sedan? theres not much to the interior in fact you can make most of it yourself using other cars bits and seats etc. Ash has some nice tutorials on how to do the interior I just used pine look wall panelling for my tiki theme along with original but re-upholstered tan colored 240z seats. You can also use other retro or period seats as most are not of any use these days. There are plenty of choices for the dash just a but of vynil instead of the foam works as long as you can get an early cluster. Theres no radio or heater in some models, sunvisors are easy and steering wheel also.
Carpet best new and is quite cheap moulded for 1000s from ebay and some ealier datsuns like the 311, 411 and 620 have similar knobs and switches

I agree with D.
1000 interriors are simple enough.
Obviously the correct part will be the most straight foward option, and i hope you find a donor.
But if you are stuck on a particular part then substituting or building can be a viable option.
Just got to work with whatever you have access to, and if you find better down the line you can always upgrade later on.
Datsun roadsters share a few switches etc as well.
As for door cards, i believe kingtrim was offering 2 door sedan cards a few years back.
Could look them up on the old google and try your luck by asking if he still is keen on doing these.

rare spares also carry polycarbonate that looks like black vinyl its pretty good stuff for cards

Thanks for the ideas guys, but i am trying to restore this car to original. I dont want to make a frankenstien. I dont mind making door cards etc but as in my original post i want a donor that i can strip and restore the bits as i go.

In that case consider no one will part with a perfect interior

im not after a perfect interior or a perfect car. im after a complete car, dont care what condition. i want it for all the little bits and pieces. and to restore the bits asd they go from the donor to the good body.
