Hi All[
i have a D1000 1970 Ute in original Condition however, i need to remove the manual box and install an auto box.

for preservation we are going to install a reco 1200 as well and store tthe original motor and box.
Reason for the Auto, I am in a wheelchair.
So, i ask, research tells me i have the larger tunnel to fit a sunny or 120Y auto box? is this true.
does any one have an auto box in reasonable condition?
im in Brisbane so if posible i would choose to pick up however i can freight.

Ive always wanted to adapt a suzuki 4 speed transmission to an A series
because they are tiny/compact and more efficient than the old BW.
The starter is in the right place and prob an adaptor plate of about 5mm
along with a hybrid A series/suzuki flex plate would be all thats needed.
Of course the brain would be needed or not if you like manual shifting.
BW 3 speeds are hefty heavy things but for sure the easiest avenue.
The only thing Im not sure you have a larger tunnel however the 1k
tunnel is so soft and thin you can bash it out from underneath to suit
and if you ever go back to manual bash it back from inside the cabin.

Not sure if this is of any use to you as the condition is unknown, but thought Id post it up anyway as it is close enough to consider. (gold coast).
