1600 roadster rear end, Will it fit

I'm wondering if a datsun 1600 roadster rear diff will bolt into the 1000 rear axle or even swap the whole thing over.
69 datsun 1000 deluxe. 73-78 Mazda b1800
65 datsun 1600 roadster. 
88 300zx turbo 2+2. 94 pathfinder

I do not think so. Why do you need a bigger diff? The H145 is plenty strong for the A10.

I think the roadster is the H165 (or is it the H190?) which ever one it is it will not bolt into the smaller axle housing assembly of the smaller H145.

I'm putting in a upgraded a14 so need a stronger diff and trans and my roadsters going to be on the shape it's in for a while so t not use the diff

You could put a H150 in there, which would take a fair bit more abuse but probably won't withstand a boosted engine.



I'm boosting a bigger A-series and running a H150. I guess the longevity it also comes down to tyre/wheel combo and how you drive it.

Ya I'm trying to find one I have found mant roaster parts but no 1200 or b210s.

Derrick you could use a roadster one but very expensive and sought after.

you best get a h150 or h165. You might be able to get the h165 from 60s

bluebird for cheap which has an alloy centre and behind some the r16

or ohv L series like engine.

If I could get my hands on an alloy head R16 motor with u20 crank in it

(same block but shorter supposedly) with u20 twin carbs or solex mikunis it

would be a my dream old skool engine. They bolt up to later 70 and 63 series

5 speeds usin the right bellhousing.

I dont want to give you any ideas but you guys in the north part of the states

are spoilt for running gear choices and wreckers are just a drive south for

you over the border right?

I upgraded the HTML/BBCode editor to the latest version so it would work on Internet Explorer 9, but it looks like accidently I've overwritten a few of the little tweaks I'd done.
I'll play with it, and let you know when it works again

I have the r16 engine all stock but she wont start. I won't be using it tho.
I'll be getting 2 510s A 69 and a 73. For dirt cheap would be awesome if they fit.

I have yet to tare into my datsuns yet so don't know much about the drive trains

I think a 510 is IRS isn't it? That'd certainly make things alot more interesting. Or are you planning to put an L-series into the 1000?

Nope I got that 1400 with a cam double spring lifters and maybe a header

Derrick you getting any 510 wagons otherwise as Clyons stated they are IRS.
Is the R16 engine an alloy head one?

You will have to shorten the wagon diff as you know but its a good upgrade.

You can use 240 or 260z alloy finned drums also.

Roadster lsd should fit it also if its the right model.

I'll be making it into my track car. My 300 is just not a track car.
I will putting a different engine in sobwont need the r16.

The roadster is a gem, what engine you putting into it?  Saw your metal working on the other thread on the b10, its looking good keep it up as there aint enough boiler makers and steel smiths and its good work. All at your own pace.

Oddly enough the 1000 is more a gem then the roaster here. It stole the show sorta at a datsun meet. Not alot around anymore.
I'm thinking sr20 or something modern for racing.
I have not done any metal work before I'm not to pleased with the panel I made there not quite right. I'm hesitant to cut and patch my fenders as I have no other back ups.

Good L series for the roadster 2130cc or 2ltr with turbo will be better and more reliable than any horrible SRDE Except the VE version with mechanical head.
 
Datsun 1000s will always steal any show. Love to buy the R16 engine if I could get it here.

Ya the l series will prob be cheaper too.

I would be willing to trade the engine for 1000 parts like fenders and a 5 spd and hood or a disk brake kit.
