Steer Rack conversion, Any one done it?

Has any one done a conversion to a steering rack? That would take a lot of ball joints out of the picture. Just curious.
too much involved in getting the angles correct.. it is really bigger than it looks...
I had a commo rack shortened for a mazda in the past.
Will be looking for something similar in the future for my b10.
Steve in NSW has done falcon uprights to the 1000 front end
to use ford falcon balljoints which are abundant.
However very heavy conversion.
Ive also heard and seen a vanette front end reversed and
use 1600 parts to use the disc brake setup and balljoints.
I prefer the stock setup but with Pinnie discs and shortened
commo R&P one day. Still leaves you with balljoing issues.
Maybe there is a close enough balljoing from something
later that could be used with some slight enlargening of
original 1000 holes?
Love to replace the rubber boots with poly urethane ones.

I havn't really looked at it yet but was just wondering. They used a lot of Cielo racks for conversions caus they are cheap, but can't remember what they used them in. Also heard of a few KA/B Laser rack and knuckles used to make conversions, that was in the combi vans. That might because there is an intermediate shaft in there too so you get a bit more flexability.
Im with Dundee on this one, I think getting the geometry right will be much much much harder than doing the fabrication work and bolting it all up.

I don't think it is impossible, There is just alot to consider as everything moves.
It is way over my head.

There has been a little bit of talk about this on here before.

Idealy when a car turns all wheels should match up to an imaginary point at the centre of the turning circle.

Here is a link with something to think about when it comes to bump steer as well.
