Super light seats

Hey guys,

I stumbled across these while looking for a set of seats similar to my mates Lotus 7. They look awesome, probably not the most comfortable, but they are identical to the ones he's got. Not too badly priced in my opinon either.

I like these ones personally
A little modern rice looking Boo but maybe can be upholtered with covers?

I have some that are 7.4kg each with rails or just as light without rails and those use alloy rails so mine come up to 15kg for the pair with way better daily comfort not just weekend lotus 7 spurts, if they dont sell here will put them up in Lotus forums for more since those guys have big bucks - 2 for the price of one of those

The last set of SAAS seats I had were god aweful and very heavy. These dont have much of a back, so I can sit them backwards a heap further (Good for me as I'm 6" tall).
I agree most SAAS seats are aweful but mine are very comfortable and support up to 180cm tall drivers - Can tell you now the seats you posted are nasty for your back and butt. You will feel sore after 1 hour in them you best look for better padding options or the visits to the Phisio will be common. The base has no where near enough support for spine impact over undulations unless used on track only and have decent wheelbase which most datsun dont.

And they are skinny as f***!! Even if I used my Datto as a daily, the longest trip is only 15min from one side of town to the other, so its not too bad. Plus the Mrs can using a sewing machine, so she can put some "Material" and padding on the arse for me!
Youd be surprised how good Kirkey aluminium drag seats can be made to look even better at 1/2 the price also

A good thing to remember when bolting in aftermarket seats is the issue of the transverse box channel that the front seats mount to. I put some Cobra Classics in mine and ran into all sorts of problems...the stock seats are offset from thier mounts quite a bit so bolting in seats directly above the mounts will result in the steering wheel not being centered and the edge right up against the b-pillars/ door at the side...but if you try to shift them over to compensate, you hit the box channel where it runs up over the trans. tunnel.
(I think it was Beetwenty that had a 1k where the previous owner had actually chopped the channel to fit seats in?!!!! one hard corner in that thing and it couldve folded in half!)
After a LOT of faffing i managed to center it using spacers both below and above the offset rails I made...sits a lkittle high, but as they are brand new seats, im hoping the padding will sink a bit over time
I guess the Cobras are a bit wider than some of these seats too around the base, so yeh skinnier the better without cuting off too many major ateries
Just weighed mine without rails for comparison to the carbon fibre ones and
mine came in at 6.4kg or 300gsm lighter than their lightest ones
