so im plobly going white with red roof,
 
i got this idea from the new mini coupe in the pic,
 

 
i like the red rally stripe and then the white on red on the roof,
although i am going white body, red roof (no stripe on roof)
 
rally stripe on drivers side boot and bonnet, about 4" stripe and a gap to a 1/12 inch small stripe,
 
should i just go same as the mini?
either way the question is what white to go for? a classic white as we spoke,
 
i would need a colour name or code, i just cant explain to the thai paint shop about tints etc,
he's showing me new car brochures from all the main car manufactures,
 
hes got dupont refinsh system so he puts the color code in and presses a button.

I just had a look at thos stripped back pics...How in the hell are you managing to braze in new bodywork without major warp-age??

so here my update, and some pics,
arrived at body shop:
 
cleaned up uderbody and painted black with stone guard like black,
stripped back engine bay and inner guards with grinding discs, (myself)

body work done and undercoated,

painted !!!



 
so, i found it difficult to find old scool white and explain to my paint guy
and then find the code etc.
so i chose off the / ford toyota etc,
 
so it ended up stark white and bright red lol
 
i do like it i just hope it will tone down a bit with stripe,
good colours if your selling lolipops
 
so the idea was from the mini as i said,

 
im now considering the same double stripes,
red on the boot and bonnet, and white on the roof,
there no clear on it yet,
honest opinions welcome

apretiate what your sayin with the pilar colour,
 
i was contemplating following the window seal fold at the top of the doors
 
at leased the back door and up the centre pillar,
 
so do you think i should go pillars and seal all the way along and up the fron pillars too,
 
or just pillars and no seal?

 
you know what i mean by seal right? crease at top of doors.

i think i'll lose the tint completely,
 
should look ok one cut and polished and start gong back together,
 
its different but im happy with it

just make sure you get them to matt black behind where the grille goes and bottom flutte area etc.
 
 

its new years eve here,
my cars been in the sound shop... 2 x 10 in subs _ boot L+R
2 x 6 in parcel shelf with 4 in tweets parcel also,
front doors custom cards x 2 x 6 in x 2   x 4 in tweets...

anyway i picked the car up at 9, im desperate to get it to where it is, as we need to drive to south 7 hours, see papa and gran...

gf wants home, near turn to go home pumping tunes... she says lets just drive!!!
 
so i say WTF lets go, im in love... big time !!! with my 1000
so we head in town ...bad move i know theres a blitz, the cops grab me but iv got a lot of experience here,
if you talk nice your usually ok,, but at this time of year its serious..there gloves are off!!! so to speak.. they mean business,
so i do what any good drunk would do to avoid jail time... you know,, running me in etc..
i offer 2 grand to the three officers and say chill boys were all mates...
my gf has been with me for 1 year and has never seen this stuff so she blows up at me,,, you cant do that etc..
 
i explain to the cops that .. give me a break i just got my car back and told them to look how lovely the thing is,, they did work with me a little but then confiscated my keys...oh shit its getting ugly, they took me to the capitan and i pledged my case .... what case in the mean time i blew the bag and it nearly exploded!!!
 
but my gf works in the local supermarket i picked her up, we love the car and just want to drice,, told the truth really,
 
so i said man its been a long day i dont want to sit in a sell, ( jail) all night...
 
let me fix it up here, my gf hit my arm hard !! for fear of more probs from the cops,
lol it was the cops that had to tell her that your bf is quite ok in what he wanted,
so he said never mind mate, (i speak good thai btw so he didnt really say mate..)
but same as,,,
he said just slip us 3 K i said now your talkin my lingo heres th $$, slipped em 2k and winked,
60 $ got me out of the dodo.

the whole car has sound deadening including roof lining,
sound great and drives heaps better very solid on the raod from the damping product..

I know when I look at my own project, no matter what has been done, all i see are the things left to do.
It must be a good feeling to look at your 1000 and know everything is how you want it. Great work!
