Looking good.
While you are doing your Heater... here is some more info on the early heater Resto I did earlier in my build.
The pics are just a mock up to illustrate the steps im describing.
Cut the head from an M5 Bolt and wrap the end tightly in tape intill it fits tightly inside the Knob.
Then insert the assembly into a drill and lightly wet sand using a fine wet/dry sand paper.
Then switch to some polish and a rag.
Only use light pressure when sanding and polishing to limit the tape from slipping within the Knob.
Give it all a good clean, then use some model paint in the letter void. (Don't worry if paint goes on the Knob)
Then before the paint drys take a pencil eraser tightly wraped in a clean rag and give it a quick wipe. (May take a few trys, and may need a very light wipe with some wax&grease remover or something similar)
You will end up with a brand new looking knob.
You can also do choke knobs, cigarette lighter knob like this.
Plus you can do your horn button, instrument panel, emblems ect with the eraser/clean-rag technique.
The eraser dosn't seem to reach into the shallow voids like fingers in a rag tend to do.
