New member restoring 1000 sedan, Parts wanted!

My thoughts are that there is no need to weld, seems like an over complicated way to go about it.
The chassis numbers are just hand engraved and could be done again easier than cuting  & welding.

If you ever paint it, just paint stripper the number area and see if anything looks altered.

Another thought that crossed my mind... maybe the new lights have been added to your old model car as a result of parts being hard to find, and also the dash pad being swaped at some stage.

40 odd years is a long time for any number of things to happen.

I say enjoy your 1000, chassis and rego state 67, so just go with that and it's a 67.
1967 Datsun B10 2 Door.
show us ya sunvisors and mabee ya Fuel flap, but that is a long stretch...
hi maiden, welcome to b10 world ...
just to try help id your car,
hope i havnt missed anything but anyway,

i recon first check to see if the tail lights look original from inside the boot, look for weld marks i guess,
a simple rear ender may have changed the tail lights with lack of parts available,

im thinking beleive the chasis number over the lights, the grille is 68 but i dont know if the grille was also late 67
or early 69 for that matter,

your tail light position looks right (as in pic below) which is some times a give away that theve been changed,
Hey guys! Sorry about the late reply! I checked the tail lights and it all looks original. Nothing looks like it's been tampered with.
Here are a couple more pics.
Also I can't seem to find and welds around the firewall or any indication it's been cut/repaired in the past.
ok, almost sold it's early, till i saw the screw holes, it's got early visors, but looks like there was, or mabee tried late visors,
the fuel cap is not much to go by, some really early ones didn't have a lock,

the bit that has sold me is the early throttle pedal, it's not a easy swap to late model, so my money is early, with some later model bits on it..  all good either way..
this is my list of differences between a 1966/67 model and later models:

.           Front wing blinkers are round;
.           A seven bar grill is fitted;
.           Brake drums are lighter;
.           Engine has a single row timing chain, smaller air filter and engine is vented from the rocker cover to the air filer;
.           Petrol filter has metal body with replaceable element mounted on bracket on RH side inner guard;
.           Manufacturer’s plate has year printed on plate and is further back on the RH side inner guard;
.           LH hole in radiator panel is angular rather than round;
.           Sun visors are mounted in the middle of each visor, standard models only have one visor;
.           Dashboard and instrument panel closely follow the metal behind, later models have a protruding dash;
.           Door opening edging is a smaller section;
.           Heater body and core;
.           Steering wheel and horn push are different;
.           Deluxe models have tinted windows;
.           Deluxe models have driver door only interior light switches, standards have none, later models have two;
.           Australian 1967 models were mainly deluxes;
.           All I have seen had 3 speed gearboxes originally;
.           Windscreen washers appear to have been added in Australia, the push button switch on the 1967 models is plastic, metal on later models.
I didn't know about the taillights and fuel flap, can anyone explain?
