A1400

I notice a lot here have A14's and A15's in their KB10's now the crunch question have many are legally registered with this mod? and if so what was involved in doing so. Was an engineers report needed. I have been given mixed information on this topic some say just take it for a rego check and specify a change of engine details and they will just chhange it. Input greatly appreiciated
I have been a long time member of the 1200 club but found this site. As I have a coupe this is where I should be.
I was told by Victorian RTA that I was allowed to go 20% bigger capacity which means only the 1200 is legal, but that was going back about 4 years. I still think you can get more than enough power with the right mods on A12. Admittedly there is no substitute for cubes!
I agree with th 20% mine is registered with a 1200 cubes are always better but my argument is what cubes lol when push comes to shove the specs in standard form do not add up to much but after mods I thing the  1400 is a far better option over the 1200. I had a pretty good set up with the 1200 with webbers and cam and a good set of yamaha flat tops it went very strong  but lacked a bit of that overall low down grunt. Anyway I am off to visit the ACT RTA and see how I go will let you know. Thanks for you input cheers Peter

When push comes to shove you put an A14 crank in your early A12
 
just machine counterweights a tad to fit the A12 block, rebalance assembly
bore for 76mm stock A15 slugs with tops milled to 29mm, A12 rods bushed
to suit larger pins, H89 oval port head and presto!

You get torquier engine than A14 and almost A15 due to rod stroke ratio
going down to 1.58 which increases gas speeds throughout the lower
and midrange and compensate at higher rpm with higher compression.
The oval port heads usually come on later in the rev range on the
1.72 stock rod ratio A14 but not this one it rocks all the way so this
combo is excellent for the street a real stump puller in any gear.
