WTD - Lower drivers side 1000 guard

Hi all,

I'm hoping that someone may have a dinged up front guard at home that might have a good lower section, as indicated on the pic below. (Pic is of a Datsun 1200 guard, but you get the idea). I was hoping to get fibreglass guards but can't find anyone that does them anymore. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I think beetwenty may have sourced some fibreglass complete gaurds.

The 1000 at the all jap day last week has fibreglass guards,
The guy said he got them from a place that deals with minis and had them sent C.O.D..
I havn't found out which place it is yet.

Anyone on here know what shop sells them?
1967 Datsun B10 2 Door.
Used to be available from classic mini, their website looks to have shut down.

I think it was $400.00 for a pair.

Alfamotosport might still do some or at least have the moulds. But those lower sections are very common to rust, I have a spare but that sections is pretty tired.
GL with your hunt.
Sorry the address is still live but the link to the guards has now disappeared, worth a try asking them.

Thanks Chris,

I asked alfa motorsports for guards a while back. He did guards with flares but not standard ones.

Thanks guys,

I remember I spoke with Scott at classicmini.com.au about them. I got a quote from him and went to buy them a few weeks later and didn't get any response. I've tried numerous time, but didn't get any replies. I'll try to give him a buzz and let everyone know.
I spoke to the guys at clasic mini last week, they dont do 1000 stuff any more. alphafibreglass still do though i think.

Thanks Adam,

I do remember speaking with them about them. Theirs have flares built into them (For race cars). I could possibly grab a set of them, cut the moulded flares off as I want to put bolt-on flares on them anyway. They also have a front air-dam for a 1200, but they said it could be retro-fitted without too many hassles.

Trav
Trav, classic mini did the stock ones but also Alfa fibreglass will make
some from a stock guard but that is the trick findind a stock guard.

I have 2 guards from my sedan in storage that Ive lipped ever so
slightly ourwards to clear 165/65/13 on 6 inch wheels prob 6.5 also.
The originals inwards lippin is useless and limiting. I did the same
on my VB10 as an example you can see my photos, hopefully its clear.

Ive done them really well but the guards I had stripped of paint and
are sitting bare metal with rust kill film on them. Would need to really
remove that film and paint them in undercoat to use them but CBF as
I got too many other things on.

They are my good guards so I never planned to get the FGd but did plan
on getting a bonnet done with a GM race scoop but now settled for a bolt on
version on top of an average bonnet & I couldnt bring myself to giving Alfa
my good 1 as its 2pack paint is blemish free & they will scratch/ruin it.

I've got their fibreglass bonnet, its a pretty good repo too. Was thinking of "bulging" the bonnet a little in the middle, but I'll wait to check the clearances first.

If their guards are as good as their bonnet, I'll be stoked.
how much was the bonnet sounds good

pretty sure there around the 200 mark

Trav's bonnet as seen 3/4 of the east coast lol i reckon a bulge thats is about 1/4" higher at that front that goes to about 1" at the rear would be sweet
