That wagon on the otherhand like it was made in the 1982

engine bay looks very clean from the little that is visible
always a fan of bright finished bays, not a stab at yours Ash

paint has come some way in the last 10 years
polyutherane was what I thought the bees knees
as a finish for engine bays and that was the choice
I would have take if I ever painted an engine bay.
However of recent there is a silicon top coat clear
that can also be found in white silicon using titanium
oxide as the colour mixed in the clear.
Silicon has the advantage of reducing noise, heat
and is so much more durable than polyurethane.
I used it recently on a concrete roof and its amazing.
Well your car is creme and that would be the color
I would use with of course silicon based finish for
us clumsy guys who keep tinkering no matter what.
