Engine Starter Panel

Last week i bought an A10 engine for the distributor and rocker cover.

On the same day my friend bought a 1200 with no engine.
So naturally...on the weekend we decided to get the A10 running and put it into my friends 1200 so he can get it in/out of the shed easier.

Because i have a tendency to go overboard with making things I decided to make a control board the afternoon before my friend came over.
Made it for A series engines as a plug and play kind of deal.

I didnt spend any money on this, just used junk that was lying about in the shed and cut up an old wooden sheet at work.

Started the A10 perfectly, so ill be using this on an A14 and an A12 that i bought but have never ran.

Also... wires on back for anyone interested in that sort of thing.

would be interesting to see its economy but the diff ratio is the issue
as the a10 needs revs to be in its sweet spot

Will be economic.

Only driving car 2 or 3 times the dataun 1200's length in my friends driveway.

His driveway is sloped, so engines are better than pushing.

Once he does paint he will think about which motor to use.

His other 1200 is 450 wheel hp on pump98.
So A10 is probably not going to satisfy his HP lust.

Im thinking he will chase something with a bit more poke if he decides to daily drive it.

...but if he stays A10, ill post up some L/km stats for you D.

450hp.... go on.... tell us more...
FJ20 Turbo.
Forged pistons, Cams, Valve springs, injectors, 3 inch exhaust, eboost, microtech, aquamist.

445HP on Pump98 24.5 p.s.i,  65:35 water meth mix Aquamist
The water meth is aaaaamazing at reducing inlet temps.
Couldnt get inlet temp above 31degC on dyno, as opposed to something in the ballpark of 100Deg at Jamboree last year.

Photo below is on old tune which was 399HP Pump98. (No water meth and standard pistons)
My friend never got a good run last Jamboree as his 1980ish piston rings were letting oil into the cylinders and causing detonation to the point where he was melting spark plug electrodes.

So with a back off he got an 11.096 1/4 mile @ 112 mph, 1.447 60ft on 205-50-15 street slicks.

Car is regularly used to take his family on drives through the mountains etc.
