Model Difference

Hey guys, have had datsun 1000's for a while and have never really gone on the web as such. Im in the process of stripping back the paint on one of my cars but am wondering how compatible the parts on my 67 will be on the 69 as i like the way the interior of the earlier ones look. Would be good to know in the way of the rest of the car as well.
Any help would be ace!!!
Are you staying within the same model? for example, 2 door sedan?

I just found out the hard way that early heaters and late heaters are not interchangable.

Early

Late

Taillights will be different, and guard indicators change throughout the years.
Link to lights and years they relate to.

Can anyone think of anything else?
I know other parts changed for different years but I can't see much else not fitting.
(I hope im right as I havn't tried this myself)

dash's might of been different to, i think the earlier models had no crash pad or just a thin one and a different guage cluster too

The Indicators are the same short spear. The tail lights appear the same. The cluster in the later one is more square. Will the earlier one fit in there? Might have to just take it out and try it
They are both 2 doors. Good guess
I'd just hate to strip the later body and have it painted then find out i cant use the assorted interior from my earlier one.
I don't see why the dash pad wouldn't fit if you changed the speedo with it too.

If you wanted to keep the odometers with the original cars then just swap the black plastic surround on your instrument panel, I can confirm these are compatable.

Awesome, Thank you both for your help!!! Will post any other finds.
Interesting to hear you prefer the earlier interiors, there isn't really that much difference apart from the dash and heater.

The door strikers are different too.

What is it about the early ones that takes your fancy? Maybe you have one that is a deluxe and one that isn't?
The more round dash and cluster, the accel pedal  isnt hinged from the floor, gearknob and assorted switches. Just those little things. My biggest concern was the dash pad, as the one in the later looks alot more square. I had my mate over yesterday and he said that worst case scenario he'd help me cut out one and weld in the other. Might sound like alot of work for what it is but i figure if im going to the effort of restoring it, i want to be happy with it.
Lovely taste, Always prefer rounded things myself

it's a very easy swap to put the early cluster in, you'll find the dash nicely painted under the crash pad..
if i get a chance I'll post a pic..
early cluster though usually hard to find and when I did find one nothing works on it

ahhhh D.. but the covers just swap over, so if everything works on yours, just swap the insides over.. 6 screws or something.. easy..
bit like me having a 69 4 door with an early cluster in KMH... awesomeness..
You'd still have that NOS early housing/fascia that I sent you wouldn't you mike? Don't come across one of those every day.
has Pride of place in the One owner Wagon Chris..
Lovely. A very deserving spot. Cheers
initially I thought the same thing as I tried to swap the early with a late one but screws didnt line up.
Must try again maybe grasshopper missed the blade of wheat.
