After fitting my 38DCOE carbs I cut and welded my aluminium airbox to match the carb spacing. Then painted it red and fitted it up. I'm booked in for a tune at the local carburetor wizard in approx 2 weeks time.

Time for an.uodate on.my build. I have upgraded my fuel line to 10mm feed and added a 10mm return. I decided to run my lines below the gearbox up front as it was a much easier path to route with the engine and gearbox in the car. I also opened up...

I'm really liking the sound. The best way I could describe the exhaust note is that it sounds like I've done an engine conversion. Sounds deeper than the old exhaust system. Thanks for the video D. That one was new to me.

The heater on the left is a 1000 heater, which has different heater hose inlet/outlet locations on the heater and firewall depending on if it is early or late. The early and late heaters look quite different to each other, but cant remember what's what...

Thanks D. There is still plenty to improve on it, but i am very happy with the decisions made so far. I've gone away from my twin SU idea and am working towards twin 38dcoe carbs. I have 2 new old stock 38-DCOE carbs here now and plan on trying things...

I got my mod plate for everything I've done. So I'm happy as can be. Time to.take the 1000 for.more drives again before redoing exhaust, carbs and airbox next year.

Over the weekend I made a start on sorting a bunch of smaller things, gearbox oil, reverse sender wiring etc. Amongst these things was an adapter to use my early datsun 1200 clutch cable on my late model box. I also fitted my thermo fan, exhaust, inlet...

I love those guys. I ended up buying the worlds most expensive battery, so im now at the mercy of the postman. But it is small enough to suit my needs so should be worth it when all is said and done and the manufacturer claims it to have a 5 to 10 year...

Today I finished up on plugging in the lights etc, modified my brackets that hold my golf lip on to allow easier access to the indicator mounting screws, installed the bumper and dropped the A14 into the engine bay. It is just in there loosey goosey...

I found the info on the whitelne website. 16mm OD, 12.8mm ID, 42mm Length. I am gong to just drill the ID with a 12mm drill bit as it only needs to fit over an M12x1.25 thread.

The brake swap is finally done. I remade my pushrod from a high tensile bolt, and bled the system, checked for leaks, etc. I have only done a few laps of my local steets, but am thoroughly impressed with the braking peformance/feel so far.
