Firstly, thanks for posting up the great writeup. Is there any particular model of commodore to pull the caliper frame off? Secondly, I'm hoping to potentially use this setup on a 411 wagon front end, which I'm hoping may be identical to the 1k...

Just coming back to this. I have been doing some thinking over this and thought it may be easier to find a replacement spindle to knock over a bunch of limitations for brake upgrades, wheel fitment etc. I came across an article from the USA talking...

Welding up holes in a bracket to redrill new ones isn't an issue for the R31 rear conversions, I've done it myself on my 180b. I was referring to welding 2 pieces of metal together to form a caliper bracket to do a front caliper conversion. I'm working...

That conversion looks a lot like what a guy in the states was doing, but the brackets were welded (which I think they are, but remember I'm tilting my head sideways and my eye site is questionable). Here is his site -> http://www.bluehandsinc.com/ ...

Ok no worries. Fabricated hub sounds To expensive for this project I've got going. I might see if I can use a complete spindle off something else, might be an easier option. Will postan update if I find anything.

Thanks for the pics and links. Here is a pic of the front drum/hub setup on the 411, which looks pretty similar to the 1k drum and hub setup Neil what conversion do you use? I've got more pics of the suspension somewhere, just have to get them off...

Tell me more about Neils lazer setup, or a link if possible. Any idea what rim they fit under? At a guess I reckon a solid rotor would be an easier fit, but open to a vented rotor if fitment around steering items isn't a big issue. I might try and...

Hey guys, I've got a 411 wagon that has 4 wheel drum brakes all round. Considering a front disc upgrade to something to something like a solid disc and single piston caliper purely because you just can't buy the drum gear for 411's anymore. I see...

Just run a right angle out of the throttle body to a filter in the corner behind the drivers headlight.

Also enjoy watching other countries restore stuff in different ways where finding NOS or spending money on new stuff just isn't possible. Also end up seeing some cool DIY. Keep the pics and updates coming

Those deluxe badges are found on some 68 model 1600s as well. Well they are on my mums car, and that came from victoria. And there is nothing deluxe about it, doesn't even have an AM radio.

Hey guys, I've seen an NZ bloke cut and shut a S15 6 speed box with an A series bellhousing and fit it behind an A15 in his rally stanza. For the price of an A series 5 speed i reckon it's worth looking at this option with an L series box or similar.
