Part way through a 120y leaf spring bushing mount. Still need to do some final shaping and remove mill scale before hopefully having my friend weld it up on the weekend. Wanting a bushing mount with a square look to not look overley out of place in...

Looks and finish are important, I would do the same for a keeper even happily remove the original style and run tubing with 2 bushings like on some race engines where you just undo on bolt and pivot the arms away from the engine for easy removal. I used...

I agree with D about flat plate being the way to mount late A engines onto early crossmembers. I am not so wise and so...I am going completely and utterly overboard and modifying everything engine mounting to avoid the adapter look.

A little bit of plate on original engine mounts is all thats needed to get the later engines in you can easily arc weld them or get someone to do it once you have it how you like.

Crossmembers are very different so are not interchangeable. Datsun 1000 has a leaf spring running inside of it You will have to excuse all the aluminum angle bolted to my 1000 crossmember, but here are 1000 and 1200 crossmembers side by side. .

I have now painted the block, honed bores, replaced rings, conrod bearings, head studs, spark plugs and oil filter. Plus gaskets etc. Checked timing chain stretch, valve gaps, and rough set distributor timing. I have temporarily replaced the head...

Time for an update on the A14 which im going to be using in my 1000. I purchased an A14 a few weeks ago and have been chipping away at it ever since. Eventually i plan to use the manifold and carbs, but for now it will be going in with a single 40mm...

Hi all, Apologies if ive posted this in the wrong place. I've just bought myself a datsun 1000. My question is will an engine crossmember out of a datsun 1200 fit into a 1000 with out any/little modification or are they very different? Thanks

Track stays as is. The 10mm plate takes up free space where the drum brakes were doing their thing. All the suspension bits bolt as they were and hubs stay the same. I would need to check disc thickness vs drum thickness to see if there is anything...

I had some steel plates water cut to do my brake swap. (Vk non finned calipers, U12 Pintara rotors and custom brackets to suit). I decided to water cut in 10mm and 5mm to keep my costs down. Tapping threads. I needed to remove some steel from the...
