Modern front disc brakes

I’m aware that Maddat sell a kit, is there anything out there that people have played with that’s easy to get parts for?

I’ve tried to find sigma calipers and laser calipers but I’m struggling to find them these days at wreckers.
I’m  aware of the r31 rear calipers but they aren’t that reliable from what I’ve heard.

Its just a street car but I’d like to know that I can stand on the brakes more than twice and know that they’ll stop the car!

Thanks!
From memory the maddat kit uses Commodore calipers
These will be the esiest to find
Don’t they have the same problem as the r31 with a piston that is too small for the front?
Only if you try to use a rear caliper (1.5" piston)
I believe their kit uses a VB-VP front caliper orig used on a 270mm disc
2 1/8" diam
whats the word on the wilwood calipers Neil, still illegal for the road?

I found the sigma GE discs still fit nicely with 13s but would be good
to find a vented disc around 250mm rather than massive heavy vented
disc that forces you to use bigger wheels than 14s and never achieve
the handling these awesome carts will provide with little effort.

Given the chance I would snatch some 260z alloy finned rear drums
as well and run bluebird or pintara drum internals all same thing.
Some racers used the alloy finned drums on the front as well but
I think they were sourced from kb110 or 1200 race versions

d,

The s13 '88-90 disc might be worth a look...250mm dia vented. That is probably what I am going with. Same specs as Pintara disc except for dia and thickness (18mm).

DBA 918 or 918S for slotted
Wilwoods are a funny thing
Many don't have a dust seal.. so people think they aren't nice
Many AP + Brembo calipers have a dust seal.. but its in the body so you don't even know its there
If your racing... you don't want dirt seals or proper boots anyway... they just burn up

As for legal... thats up to the inspector... since most aftermarket calipers don't have any ADR compliance... most could be knocked back

I'm going to adapt some MGF Trophy calipers onto a 1000 on a RX8 323mm disc... cause I can (I hope) ... its up to the individual as to wheel sizes , budget , intended use... as to what they use really
For many its cost and availability
But alythings got to be better than the lanechanging drum setup
great looking calipers those are, they seem very light
how do they compare to mazda 4 spots? lighter?
Wheels I know what you mean but seen 15 inch cragars
on a 1000 and it looked like a tonka truck toy but nothing
wrong with that if thats what the individual likes.
Some part of me wants to see a tubed and wide body 1000
coupe much like a zakspeed escort

maybe in another parallel universe where things like thise are possible

That what I plan to build
17" wheels are the go

Haven't weighed both calipers...I just bought the MGF ones on ebay on a whim
One of those 'make an offer' bids...I bid low and he accepted
Neilspeed Sunny? Godspeed

I also wanted some kind of all alloy v6 for a 1k coupe
and big box flares like the zakspeed at one stage but
The reason for the v6 was that easy power and alloy
to keep it all lightweight but the only engine that
would fit the bill would have been a Lancia v6 or
a buick by TP which are all alloy casted items and
come in at 130kg but then found the TVR v8 was
122kg and now cannot get a coupe 1k body lower
than I can get a TVR 2500M or 3000M

A12 compound turbo
A12 with A14 crank at least
or A14 with A12 crank at minimum if you need revs

Class rules for 2.0 is engine size x 1.7 for boost
So 1176cc starting size
classy stuff! I thought you were talking about another car the wide coupe with a v6 engine

It gets muddled
