Tie rod ends

G'day all, has any one found some where to buy tie rod ends, all the ones on ebay say 1000's have a 14mm thread whereas i know mine is 12mm as i've already bought and fitted a new LH one and both inners in 12mm.

Thanks beetwenty i missed that one as i didn't see datsun 1000 in the main heading (my excuse anyway lol) nearly twice the price of the LH one but i don't care at the moment i'm just glad to find one.

Bummer just got a message back from them saying they can't fill the order so i'm back to square one.

Pedro...
I have never ever been let down by these guys.
Postage is usually around 1 week, give or take a few days.

Thanks for that Ash, I ordered the last one they had, no rush on the delivery i still have a fuel tank to cut down, handbrake, speedo cable, wiring, radiator hoses and rear shockies to modify (make fit) all fun and games

Glad I could help out.

Got to keep as many 1000's going as we possibly  can.

Not exactly a 1000 any more though.

Received the tie rod end from about time spares today and it's a 14mm, that's two i have now that i can't use, does anyone know what the go is with this two different sizes bit, every body is saying that datsun 1000 is 14mm but mine is 12mm I've already fitted new 12mm inners and a 12mm left hand one but can't seem to get a RH, is there a year model where they changed or something?
   Pedro
I feel terrible now.

Genuinely thought the about time spares one was 12mm.

Not your fault mate they advertised it as fitting a Datsun 1000, I'm going to ask a mate who runs a mechanical repair shop in town if he can get one through his suppliers..

Thanks Neil but think i'll get my mate to get it, i've already bought two others and paid for a third one that they then contacted me and said they couldn't supply and i'm still waiting for them to refund me, I've outlayed around $150 so far and still haven't got the right part and i just don't want to take a chance on getting it wrong again, it's bloody ridiculous it's easier to get parts for a 1949 Prefect than for a 1967 Datsun lol
   Pedro
Its easier to use the readily available joints and make a new centre joining rod with the right threads
Sure an easy fix with a Helicoil or Timesert
14mm to 12mm fine pitch threads easy peasy

Yeah my mate suggested that Neil but unfortinately i've already bought and fitted new 12mm inners.

That's a good idea d, if Kenny can't get me one i might have to go down that track.
