CA16/18DE/T fitting kit for 1000, Perfected any 1000 - Pending Payment

I have some custom engine mounts perfected for a datsun 1000 to fit any CA motor
I spent 3 days making them so they would fit on a stock crossmember with original
mounts cut off placing engine ontop and just welding C brackets for the mounts
Also spent ages sourcing the parts and engine to suit my nit picking needs.
Was going to register this setup using sohc head and ca16de engine number but
around 1950cc hidden withing the internals.

Consists of :
Low Km CA18DE complete bottom end
Batwing sump fits 1000 crossmember without mods
CA16DE bottom end in case of racing class capacity limit,
CA16DE block can be bored to 83mm from 78mm (extra thick factory sleeves)
Special engine mounts to clear and angle the engine perfectly missing boot line.

$300

All the hard work is done, just need a CA top end of your choice.
Im going L series with Na16s or Na20s 8 valve head.

Not pictured are the "C" sections that just need welding onto your crossmember I have the high tensile bolts also
to go through the mounts in galvanised gold. These allow perfect angle for the motor.

Just showing mounting points for reference, these mounts are now painted black

Bat winged sump misses all the vital areas on the crossmember with spare room has angle area to suit angled engine
towards the passenger side allowing bigger inlet tracts if required or heaps of space for carbs.

This is the ca16de engine block (same as ca18de except bores) with SOHC head mocked up for clearance
Due to engine sitting on a tilt of 15 degrees if fits without issues, A15 is taller with carb and filter.
56cm is same height as A10 with carb and filter so pretty compact engine.

This is the SOCH head for reference of the hemi chambers 42mm inlets and 35mm exhausts can go to
46mm inlets and 38mm exhausts if required but over 340hp is possible with boost.

A pure work of art Dave, can't wait to hear/read/see about your finished product... epecially if you do end up squeezing the full potential ponies out of one! I'd imagine some thorough chassis strengthening would be needed though??

No really this is for sale as I know have my mind set on quad carbed crossflow L series. Harder longer block to fit but Ive got my mind set for a longer wheelbase 1000 coupe (99 inches like 370z) with longer front bonnet (with bonnet scoop), guards and R&P steering.

The CA wouldnt need chassis strengthening at all, the CA18de with sohc head, no mains girdle (block is strong enough like A series but way more webbing than A series and beefier maincaps) weighs as much as an A15 but the beauty is big capacity, compact size, 5 speed gearboxes and lots of bolt on goodies. There is a ca18et soch turbo engine, Neil has one and some Euro and Uk sohc ca18et owners have gotten more than 350hp but with more torque than a ca18det with the same turbo size thanks to hemi pro swirl head.
For more hp and rpm the twin cam head is favourable but for most 200-300hp atw should suffice in a sub 650kg car.

Ca18De block 37kg , A15 block 36kg , both CA and A cranks same weight , CA20s head 15kg, A15 head inc camshaft from block 13kg, 133mm ca rods almost same weight as a15 133mm rods, Ca18de late geared starter is 1kg lighter than A15 starter, Knife edged Ca18de crank 1.5kg lighter, Ca16 or 18 block can be made 500gsm lighter with grinder in stratigic locations. All up very close!!

Suit CA18 SOHC block ?
DOHC block but I was using the sohc head for weight saving and for the fact that under 5000rpm the 8v makes more torque and power with same turbo, all sohc and dohc ca blocks have the same mounting patterns/mounting points.

I guess I'd just need sump , pickup and mounts then ?
CA16 can go in bin  ..... lol
Neil are you thinking of using your ca18et turbo engine?  Have you had a chance to peek under the rocker cover to see if the head is cast in japan? The ca16/18De motors have the bigger head bolt holes from 8mm changed to -> 10mm while all soch engine have the 8mm head bolts except for very maybe the late hydraulic tapped ca20s engines. The ca18et can have arp 8mm head studs put in but need to send a sample to arp for them to fix you up. Well worth it as the ca18et often have HG problems due to the 8mm bolts not holding tension. - Ca16det is easier to pass engineers if capacity is an issue.
