So I bought a 4 door sedan the other day.
The main intention was to keep most of the good bits for my Wagon, but noiw has kinda turned into a learning exercise for both me and my 11 yo stepson. After buying him his own cheapy toolkit from Bunnings, I told him if he helps me strip it we can put some of the unneeded parts on eBay and he will get 50% of the proceeds.
Now normally I would offer the parts at offer here or D1200 first but I hope in this instance some of you will unterstand that my stepson has never picked up a screwdriver before and is really getting into me more than I excpected the average modern childs attention span would allow. Plus it would be good to make a few bucks back off wehat I paid for it.
That said there will be parts Im not sure what to do with...some of them are not worth selling...some of them I cant use on a wagon. Those bits im open to requests on.
So far its things like, Door Cards,
rear door hinges and or glass/ winder mechanisms, little bits of trim like the little headliner bits on the rear pillars and the headliner itself (1 little tear) Seat upholstery is trashed but the frame is ok...and the shell (some minor front end damage) itself If no one wants these they will go to the tip.I d rather give stuff to a home thatn throw out anything Datsun, but kinda need to get this out of my driveway at the same time.
But the real question is how much to pull apart?
I mean am I better selling or giving away the whole door even tho the skin is rusty or completely dismantiling the mechanisms/glass from it and selling them individually?
Same with an a10 here...sell complete or seperate bits like carby and manifold?
Maybe some of you might even end up wanting this stuff let me re-iterate that im not doing this for profit, but Id be interested to hear your thoughts on what you would do...
Oh and let me know if you want any of this non-saleable stuff I will put up a giveway list once ive sorted it all.
