supercharger

Has anyone supercharged a a12 or a14?? if so what charger did you use and how did you set it up? or is it a waste of time? any info would be greatly thanked
Yes, the A-series has been supercharged plenty of times. Probally the most common charger used is the SC12/14 from the Toyota Corollas. V-belt drive and faily simple to fit.
The Good stuff.
Faily cheap way to go. Not a complicated fitment. Basically side mount it like an alternator. Chargers arnt too hard to find.
The not so good stuff.
Fairly limited in max boost. Not sure of the exact PSI, but not huge.
No where as good as a proper screw type charger as its a centrifugal type (basically a belt driven turbo)

From the reports of people that haave used the SC12/14, they all seem to say that it doesent perform as well as expected and end up fitting a turbo.

I dont recall anyone fitting a proper screw type/roots type charger to the A-series.

Im sure someone will pipe up.
Have a look at 1200.com. There are plenty of threads discussing this exact issue there.
The thing I do like abouth the Toyota SC is the electric clutch on the pulley, allowing a switch to be added to the circuit.
When the "D" hits your eye, like a txt smiley guy...

Eaton M45 is your BMW Cooper S Super Charger, they are great. Manifold can get tricky though so consider that.

They are suited to 1.6ltr. I am using the same on my A16.
