New I.D. tag for our puppy.

My brother just recieved his 3D printed brass I.D. tag for our dog that he designed and sent off to be made in brass.

My brother and his wife decided to name their dog "Sunny".

They have had her for about 3 years and is well and truly part of the family.

Nice work
that is very cool...
what a beautiful looking pooch and nice tag to suit.
can you ask him who makes these 3d printed units as
I would like to make a logo for our rat wagon and
maybe our dog "ushi" which means cow in japanese
as she is a black and white border collie mongrel bitch.
Cost and sizes would be awesome but guessing its
a 20 to 50c coin like in size?

You are right on with the size.

My brother had it printed from a 3d model that he designed.

I believe cost was around $30aud.
So not bad for something custom.

Not sure who he got to do the printing.
Different places can be cheap or expensive depending on materials used.

Hey D,

I modelled the 3D object using blender, and exported as an .STL file, then used shapeways.com

Here's a link to the dog tag so you can get an idea of their prices in different materials:

I didn't add any markup, so they're for sale at cost.

I don't believe in profiting from fellow datto lovers

They're also only 3mm thick x 34mm round. So there's not a lot of volume there, which is the main thing you're paying for with 3D printing.

Oh, and D, I can upload a version in exactly the dimensions you like with no keyring loop.

So there would be no grinding necessary!
The weight is great for a pooch, dont want to weigh them down
Wish I had a datto as Ive ventured into the dark side here in Jpn
Toyota bB and MR-S for now but you never know maybe one day
atm too hard to maintain old cars here with salty air but will buy a
90s Honda NSX to keep for a year then export back to QLD.
Im also into cycling here as everything is so close and want to
start an electric conversion on a trike then a 7 seater mini van.
This bitch always loses anything on her even the rusty chain she
had here in this pic, shes like a houdini of collars and council dog
catchers as she was a stray for years before we befriended her.

She did have a nice brass bell like the Holsteins wear in Switzerland
but lost it as she often rolls on all kinds of debri even seaweed as
a daily routine usually for about 3-8 metres before shes done

Will you be bringing the pooch back with you?

Oh, and don't worry, I don't own a Datsun either... I've got 2x Toyotas:
Due to Oz very strict animal quarantine issues and the stress suffered by separation
were some pets are kept for as long as 6 months due to beaurocratic jargon we are not
bringing Ushi back to Oz instead keeping her in JPN and making our home here also!
Lovely beasts you have! beats the overcomplex things that come out these days
Celica has a plush feel and easy steering a good punch too from 3500rpm with
the 18rg as I remember can be economical too if wanted or a growling beauty.

the hilux is fine with no aircon in your area? here its hard to tolerate the humidity from june to september in a car
