My 1000 Wagon, Another distraction from my other projects!

Just thought id start a project thread on this great site.
I recently bought a nice little 1000 wagon
Plans at the moment are to keep it standard and historic rego and maybe later on down the track fit my A14 from my 120y

Already replaced front wheel bearings, brake hoses patched up radiator , repaired air cleaner and cleaned up the carby and got it running.

Need a few things like new taillight lenses, one gaurd blinker lens , dash pad, original front seats...and a few more bits im sure!

Is that the one from Bangalow or something that was on e-bay?
nice ride would look better with a chrome front bumper i reckon

Yeah it was from batlow , i bought it after the auction ended off ebay.

Im not a fan of the blue bumpers either ...just not sure what the condition of the bars are like under that blue paint?
Hmm you wouldn't paint them unless they were pretty rusty. Cut it back anyway, maybe get them blasted and I'm sure they chrome will come up nice again.
Nice colour on the body
car is running ok just need an accel pump for the carby , should have it tomorrow.
still need to clean all the dirt out of the inside and give the interior and windows a good clean.

gave it a wash and took it to work for a oil change

Need to lower the rear a bit too!

That's looking sweet,

I would try and clean the paint off the bumpers, if it's too bad under the paint you could always paint them black or silver again.
It would have to look better than the blue.

thats the plan beetwenty,
just got to find the time!
and Steal the Watts off the 1600 wags.. ha ha
Car looks great! Hubcaps are pretty sweet too,
I was thinking the same thing Chris,
I would love a set of hubcaps like that oneday,.
You have got to keep it on those wheels, especialy if your doing historic rego.

Very nice ride Ben, anything been happening with it lately? How did you go about lowering the rear?
I am also curious about the lowering
There are lowering block kits on e-bay if no one has seen them yet. They are listed as 1200 parts but the rear ends are the same I have been lead to believe.
Hi guy's not much happening due to family and stuff.

hopeing to clean the paint off the bars soon and give it a clean up for datsun day!

i did try some other wheels (hayashi copys) and they didnt fit on the front

but the 2 original hayashi's i have do fit but i dont have a set of them

i will try my 14 inch watanabe's from my 1600 wagon to see if they fit soon.

As for lowering the back, i took the thick extra spring and the other bottom spring and put them on top of the others and it lowered it nicely ,I also had a rear shock that wouldnt move at all so took it out and put it in the press at work and got it moving .
I will replace the shocks down the track too.

So i thought id try the wats on the 1000 and they dont look to bad only fitted 2 on this side to see if they fit.
