It supposedly runs a dizzie and about 150hp ate from what I last read
Steve Newing got 243hp from a ca18de for his championship winning sunny
Apparantely Nissan cast quite a few alloy blocks for the CA18de before
going ahead with the SR20DE but they where a few decibels to high
compared to the SR20de sand cast block. Love to get a hold of them!!!

Alan you put it just right this thing just keeps swarming ahead like a angry wasp after some spiders.

awesome vids ash thanks for posting them up, its amazing how quik that little car is. i wanted to track that 2dr i have but was going to put a turbo charged rotor in it, dont thinks that would be necessary after watching that

Donated some parts for my own one that car did
Shame it got bent... but it was really killed after that day
 
Your wagon can pass scrut for hillclimbs and sprints if you really want to have a go
Its actually not that hard
 
Will be doing some events next years myself once I get a few things sorted/sold

A magna hitting a classic what a loss and insult at the same time but anything like that is an excuse to build a tilt front end to save it and enjoy it further. Datsuns 1000 lend themselves well for tiltfront ends setups as have been done plenty to racecars in the past.
 
A ca16de should be easy to pass for the road in WA? Ca16de makes same power as the ca18 just have to revv it higher which is not a bad thing for light cars. You can also bore the ca16de to 18 bore size from what Ive read on Exa forums. Also you can re-stamp the ca18de with ca16de number

You're right Dave, it is insulting, but nowhere near as insulting as what he aparrently did to make it easier to get the engine/box out.  He removed the radiator support panel with (get your smelling salts ready) an AXE! 
 
To revive it, it'll probably need a cut n' shut. Personally, I'd like to see it converted into a trailer, as the rear is way more salvageable. 
 
I'm actually unsure about the leagality of doing a CA16DE conversion for street over here, I haven't studied the WA Dept of Transport's bit and pieces.  Neil or Mike might be able to shed some light on the subject though.
