front brake caliper q's

been doing a bit of research on front disk brake conversions, what do you guys think of the pintara/vs rear caliper conversion? i honestly think the caliper is a little small. i have that setup ready to put on just not entirely sure i want to run it, thought maybe if i put good pads and run vented rotors that might help it but not sure

what do you guys think is the best caliper or size caliper is best to run with the rear drum brakes? im thinking of trying to adapt the s13 or 120y front caliper and run a booster (trying to keep in the nissan family). if i can make it work im going to get a caliper bracket cnc machined up

just want opinions/ideas, trying to brain storm

here's some pics of a 1200 caliper setup i think its is

is this a better setup than the pintara/vs caliper option? im not sure what the piston size is in this caliper i can't find anything thats tells me

I think quite a few jap cars had them

oh rito are they crap? i have this setup and the vs caliper setup. trying to decide if i should use either of them or just adapt the s13 caliper like the 1200 guys are doing

Commodore caliper piston is too small at 1.5"
You need 2" or 2 1/8" to get good braking performance
Otherwise its just all push and no stop
yea i tend to think the same neil, what i think im going to do is use the b110 setup on the sedan. i think they should suffice and definately will be better than the drums. wont be hard to get the f/r ratio right either. if anyones interested in the b110 setup let me know as i'll get some more brackets made up or something

i want to get a hold of the bigger girlock calipers from the 200b and adapt them for the ute, if there good enough for a ca18det powered ute they should be good enough for a thou. if i use s13 calipers i'd like to adapt the rears as well so pretty well use the complete s13 setup

don't waste your time with the pintara rears on the front. Not worth the headaches, and performance is poor. In fact i'm still running the solid rotors from the pintara rears, which I believe limit me some what. I would be using the front setup off the 1200, but changing the calipers to something bigger, because the rotor is a bolt on type, and you may be able to use corona calipers, (I tried them with the pintara rotors but they didn't fit the rotor for positioning but bolted to the brackets sweet as). Use a 7/8 master instead of the 11/16, this will help with reaction time.

Niel is the expert, but I have found this to be the case. I'm saving up to up-grade the brakes on my car to much bigger calipers, if the kits are still available.
yea thats what i sort of thought, i want to try adapt the bigger stanza caliper (mainly for engineering reasons) or try adapt the s13 caliper
