I would be onto it Big D, well if the lawyers would at least kiss me before they rape me, but it might be better they are doing it rather than "Her" doing it...
I know what you mean but the savings over a worked GX or H89 head with all the bells and whistles and either injection or tuned webers is hard to beat.

Im going webers like these from Rowland manifolds in Souf Afrika

M016 sells for172AUD and postage airmail is 64AUD, have stock acept Visa, Master and PayPal regards Rowland

or billet inlet manifold from technotuning!

2 exhaust cams are a good upgrade as the exhaust is 250 degree and 8.8mm lift from factory
both cams can be reground to 260 degrees 10mm lift and head shaved 2mm for 10.5 comp
This is a very cheap mod which with 78mm factory B6 pistons into A15 will emulate the B6
then you have 160hp at the wheels with 45mm webers and good pipes from Miata vendors
its a proven combination from Miata/mx5 freaks worldwide.

Some more mockup shots with perfected covers

build of the prototype

final product

Ford and Kia for a bargain price and mod your block as described earlier.
I will supply all the details in printed form for reference to make it happen.[size= large]This is an amazing opportunity that has more hp and less cost than a worked GX.

Block needs pushrod holes drilled and tapped for brass plugs or any steel plugs will to (short countersunk hex bolts will do will put pics up soon) and oil drain holes next to pushrod holes also plugs the same way using three smaller countersunk plugs or easier with devcon type filler. Front water galleries same thing and some water galleries opened up just a tad.

The oil feed of the side at the top plug side in the middle drill out the brass insert to use as oil feeder to the head. Tap the same feeder at the top of the block to block it, and run line brass line to the head  oil feeder which is easily drilled and tap where pics will show.

Will put pics up, theres no welding anywhere very easily all done at home even the brass drain plugs from the head are easier than his first versions which he used welding. Its all sorted now after further development he has an easy setup.

Sweet sounds easy enough, does it work with the early a12 or do you need the late one?

Early A12 no problems but will need 76mm bores as minimum or 75 flat tops and notch the bores to clear the outer edges of the inlet valves like some A series do for big valve heads.

Im personally doing a 1mm oversize mx5 piston for 79mm and sleeves and A14 crank into an early A12.

Ohhh bloody hell... Ive been mega busy away from the forums for the last few months and this turns up!!!

I need a job before I start spending too much cash on cool porn like this.

Im hoping that this wont be a one off thing as Im off to do some more research before I wade neck deep in, but I am still very interested.

Hi all, the guy who makes these is coming up to qld mid july so if anyone is interested let me know would be a good chance to get a run down of what needs to be done if your interested in purchasing

I recently took delivery of this setup from the seller. Despite what seems like a high price, it is in fact very good value.

It looks great, and he is mega helpful. I have assured him that I will be taking photos and documenting this as much as  is possible, with the intent to create an instruction manual as such.

AS I track through this project, which is hopfully starting shortly (cash dependant) ill throw up some pics, in my project thread.

Awesome Reubs, I was going to do the manual but ran out of time myself by the time they where finished, this is the ultimate evolution of the A series, nothing comes close to what these cosworth style heads offer.

The kit is definitely worthwhile compared to a fully worked A series head, in fact you save money cause if you ever need another head they start around $50 from any dozen different cars released by mazda, ford and kia.

Also a fully worked A series would need constant rebuilds compared to smoother mazda head which puts very little strain on the whole assembly unlike pushrods.

ThouUte, that sounds like an awesome plan. I mad scientist who designed this setup originally only ran it NA, so that's right up your ally.
Just don't forget, if you run high comp now, you will need to decompress it later for boost.
In saying that, I sooooo miss my old A12 that had high compression (shaved head) and a massive lumpy cam. It just sounded soo sweet. BUT boost is much faster.
Yea boost is fast but cost the $$$$ that I don't feel like spending lol

premium 98-100 octane but ecu tune is the key, with e85 no problems but not everyone can get "e"

Ive got a 77mm a15 block that needs a home. I was under the impression that i need 78mm to clear valves etc.

But above you have 76mm is safe. 76mm is std A15 bore so thats a win right there. Any a15 block is good to go.
