Exhaust
Spark plugs
Flywheel
Gearbox
Spark plug leads
Altinator manifold
Radiator
Water pump

Not sure what else?

Thanks alot ahead of time hard to know when I havnt done it before...
When you say all new things, what do you mean?

For example, I could simply say tyres, rims, rear axle housing, brake pads, brake cyclinders, hand brake rods, hand brake springs, diff centre, wheel berings, wheel nuts, wheel studs. The list could go on for some time, and I havent left the rear axle assembly yet.

If you mean "all" as in absoutley everything possible, well thats easy. You just keep swapping parts out till everything you see is new!

If however you have a budget, or a purpose in mind, that will help to give more pointed and useful advice.
Holy dooly i dont even know how to begin answering this...

are all those things broken? Most of those things even if they werent broken you would be better off keeping the money and buying bits that are broken until all your bits arent broken then spend money on some nicer rims or performance mods!?!?

i noticed your looking at putting an l16 into a 1000? Is this cause the a12 is stuffed?

Need more info if possible, then the smart fellows on here can help you to the moon
Thanks for the replys and yes it is because the a12 is stuffed and I don't need to know about the dig and wheels and what not I'm just trying to find out what I need Round the motor and to make it start because I bought an l16 block with nothing on it so just replacing broken parts is not posible because there are no parts. I don't know if that makes more sence?
Are you going to have this car registered? I think that the cost of all the bits you need for the L16 and then to get it engineered will far out weigh the cost of a nice hot little A series motor. You can do some pretty awesome things with the A series (check Reubytuesdays build) and they look far better than an L. Personally I think the L motor will be way to much hassle especially if you have not modified a car before, they become money pits....unless you've got heaps!
Yes I'm planning on having it registered. And yes it would be easier and cheaper to get an a12/14/15 but nobody sells them... At least not that I can find... So therefore my only real option is just get this l16 fitted because you can still get parts easily for them
Check out eBay at the moment there is a sunny with a A15 and 4 speed, good for a rebuild or there is a pretty hot A12 for 5k (which I think is high) and I'm pretty sure noteven on this site has a motor for sale. It's not that the L16 won't fit it's just a very tall motor which requires a lot of mods, have you spoken with an engineer or found out what the requirements are for you to get reg? That would at least give you an idea because you will need brake upgrade, modified tranny tunnel and altered front end and that's just a couple.
what A series motor do you want ?? have a few laying around the place rebuilding an A series is cheap as crap anyway
I have been a long time member of the 1200 club but found this site. As I have a coupe this is where I should be.
Theres a rebuilt L16 on ebay for 660 and I know that dude who sells them and he will make it 600, his name is Davor Rajic and is very negotiable with these old stock engines, L16 will go well with boost and 5 speeds are easy.

You will need as mentioned before a custom sump, shortened waterpump or electric waterpump at least
to fit properly and remove bottom part of drain channel on the firewall.

You can even slant it a tad to bias a better inlet manifold/exhaust setup etc.

L16 revvs like crazy with just good springs, l20b electric dizzie, mild cam, lightened flywheel, cast L20 exhaust manifold and twin sus, especially with L18 crank, L16 rods and milled L18 SSS slugs etc
