You can fit it in without tunnel mods I spose. That just means it all sits lower, and with the 1000 front cross member in the way, the sump would foul i would expect. The T50 is a good box for the 1k, espcially since they can be had for around $500 or...

Thanks RT...my main concern was the tunnel. I have a few T50 boxes lying around for the 22 so I thought I might as well use one. Sitting one up in the tunnel it looks like it clears OK but without the bell housing, exact positioning is only a guess.

Yeah, I have done the T50. Depending on which T50 box you use (there are 3 types from memory) with each one having the gear stick in a different position. You will need to move the gear stick hole. You will also need to make the tunnel slightly...

This is years ago. But i bought my old shocks with me to pedders as my car was still an unregistered project at that stage. I had one of the staff at pedders remove the pins from my old shock absorbers and fit them into the new shock absorbers that i...

Strange that pedders say they dont have a listing. Their web page shows some 1000 bits. https://www.pedders.com.au/catalogue/all/nissan/1000/ Their in house part number for the front shocks is 3029 Failing that, I have heard a few 1000 owners say they...

Hi all, Before I dive in and purchase a bellhousing to fit the T50 box into a 1000 I have a question for anyone that has done this conversion. Does the tunnel need any mods itself? Mounts etc I don't have a concern with, just the tunnel. Thanks.

Hi Peter. I believe an early datsun 1200 idler arm is a bolt in replacment for a 1000.

Thanks Dundee. Any chance of a picture of your motor in grey? I like having a black engine bay as I can bang spanners into things and just use a can of black spray paint to repair any clumsy mistakes. Also untidy wiring harnesses hide well on a black...

Thanks for that tip ash. Im hoping that a standard crank seal will cover the bottom one and maybe a standard mazda seal for the timing pulley and fits on the camshaft. I know that Rob (the evil mastermind behind this) would have used off the shelf...

I dont have any part numbers for you sorry Reuby T. Small chance of it... but if you end up buying seals based on physical sizing be aware that alot of seals are rotation direction specific. They have little angled grooves inside. So take note of...

Thank D for that feedback. After getting some other opinions and just thinking about it - your right a standard pulley - no harmonic balencer will be fine for now. - I can get carried away with that detail later if need be. I had 5 mins to play with...

I think i agree with you about the blue D. So a red or black engine block before it goes in then? If I went Red I would try my best to keep the intensity of the red down on the engine block and try for a factory-ish looking shade of red. Maybe just a...
