I have marked this as sold for you Chris, I honestley don't care what I get for it. im far more interested in trying to get some space back. I know you will give it a good home. I have 1000 parts in almost every room in the house, the garage has no more...

Yeah no it'd definitely good. That wobble is just from the over-riders being and the flared pressed ends, pretty normal. I'll send you a note next week when I know exactly how much I have spare.

What benefits would you hope to gain for a street 1000 with rack & pinion? Apart from somewhat less backlash and a slightly improved feel why would you go ahead with this? Race-car I could understand but for a streeter it really is a headache for...

There are no dents, if you look at the pic of it from behind you can see it has some wobbles along the edges. Other than that it's a good bumper.

I don't think anything on a 1000 is overly heavy. I have had thoughts of a rack and pinion set up when I was considering engine swaps. But the more I thought about geometry the scarier it seemed. I would think getting the rack cut to the correct length...

never really looked at a rack and pinion setup would be nice, was trying to keep it simple and would also be easier to get parts i assume. i'll try get measurements if it's to much longer im not real interested i like the space the way it is thats...

How heavy are these things? Ive never had them out before, they look pretty heavy. Ive been wondering of going for a shortened rack and pinion from a CommonHo.

I think there is a good chance the whole steering box/column set up from a 1200 would work. The exploded diagram in the two parts books are identical. I think the 1200 only had an extra spacer at the steering wheel end. The only thing I could see as being...

I decided to take a pic of the 1000 idler arm and another of the 1200 idler arm from the same angle to see how close they are. Turns out they are the same. I used skinny bolts that were smaller than the holes in the chassis so there was a few mm of play...

When I was talking about the idler arm I was talking about the side not on the steering box. I was meaning to use a 1200 idler and use the third hole in the pic (Above the rear idler arm bolt) to make things line up again. I bought a 1200 arm that was...
