EFI conversion

Hi Guys,

I am in the process of converting my a15 to EFI turbo, I am getting close to recieving my inlet manifold and looking to start collecting the rest of what I need.

What power added ECU are people running?

Does anyone have pictures of there crank trigger wheel setup they are using?

Here is the 3d printed mockup getting ready for casting.

Looks very nice, like Mark Lanyard units for the L series

There would be a few people interested on 1200.com maybe
I know there is a David "zigmondo" that might be interested
in the final result if you are planning on more than one

Thanks, I am happy with how it has tured out so far.

I found a guy in NZ who designs and casts custom manifolds tuned to the specs you are after. I measured up the engine bay, sent cam, engine, turbo, gearing etc specs and the powerband with red line I was after and he came up with 2 harmonic lengths that would suit. I have a plenum already so he is casting with the backing plate so I can have mine welded on.

Top guy, highly reccomend so far! As he has spent a lot of time going back and forth to get this design right, I am sure he would welcome other equiries.

Rob at Whitley Tune (easy to find on FB), he did his aprentiship at Kelford Cams from memory. below is my manifold 3d printed on his sunny. All ready for casting, can't wait for the finished item!

might get the cost down for more than one...
no flutterbys... single tb on plenum/airbox ?
I decided to go with the single tb.

Happy to pass on details to whitley tune (or reach out directly), ive tried the bulk buy thing before and getting commitment a just never happened.

Does anyone else here have an efi a15 turbo? Would be great to see the ignition setup.
You could go a crank trigger wheel in the front of the balancer
Or a Mazda rotary 'dizzy' which is really just a crank angle sensor (I'm lead to believe you just change the gear on the shaft ... haven't done mine yet)
Then run your 4 coils and fancy ECU

Im doing a heap of work in this area.

A15 EFI Turbo setup. - Its a way off for a bunch of reasons.

Im using the EFI setup from a pulsar.

If you hunt down a multipoint version its even eaiser. They also came in a centre point injection setup.

This uses the delco computer which is highly programmable.

They guys over at delco hacking are really helpful on this front.

AS for the ignition trigger I want to use the factory B6 CAS, but i might run into issues with it against the firewall.

The mazda rotary cas might be a good backup.
Some of the guys over at delco hacking have use nothing more than a grinder to cut a mark in the front pulley and an ABS sensor off a commodore front disk setup.

heaps of options from the quick and dirty to super complex and prices to suit.
Depends on what you want to do
Reubs is that A15 with the twin cam head?
If only I had a datsun Id be following suit

yep thats the one D

I have stripped out 2 x centre point pulsars.
I have a multi point pulsar still in the yard to strip.

Between the three, I should be able to cobble together enough.

The best part about the pulsars (and the early delco stuff for that matter) is that the engine harness is effectivly seperate from the rest of the car.
You can hack out the unneeeded harness nad it wont get upset, unlike the later delco stuff that wants inputs from  all over the car (gearboxes, dashboards, key barrel, immobilser etc etc)
You can reprogram the later delco boxes and use later harnesses, but its harder and requires mre knowledge.

Im lazy like that.
