Was very suprised to find this on speed hunters. The "pocket-sized Sunny 1000" was being raced at Tsukuba circuit in Japan

thats def a fuel filler in the roof.
 
Fast refuelling that way. No sloshing, and you can use a can with nozzle and not spill anything. No need for fancy qucik couplings, or fast flow pumps, just a can and big filler neck.
 
makes sense for a budget racer really.

I love the stripe! I think I'll be doing something similar to my 1k but different car color.

Better place for a filler is high on the rear window glass about 3 x3 inches down 
and side from the driver rear edge as there is strength there and out of view.
Get a proper cutting blade, polyester flanges glued with plumbing clear cement
and ther roof remains hole free retaining strength as a bonus.
